Calne Town Council has announced yet another vacancy on the council, for the Chilvester and Abberd Ward again, following the resignation yesterday of Conservative Councillor Orrey Pike.
Calne is gearing up for its annual Christmas Festival of Lights this Saturday, 29th November, with a packed afternoon of stalls, entertainment and the much-loved lantern procession set to draw people into the town centre.
An outline planning application has now been submitted for the Penn Hill site in Calne, a year after developers unveiled revised proposals for the controversial housing scheme.
