Mother Nature proved to be Calne Cricket Club's toughest opponent last weekend, as persistent rain resulted in a washout across all levels of play.
Scheduled matches for the week ended with a scoreline of "Rain 4, Calne Cricket Club 0," with several games starting only to be abandoned due to the inclement weather.
The club is hoping for drier conditions as they look ahead to this weekend's fixtures: Calne 1st XI will face Malmesbury at home. Calne 2nd XI will travel to Malmesbury to play their 2nd XI. Calne 3rd XI are set to host Chippenham 5th XI. Calne 4th XI will journey to Chippenham to compete against their 6th XI.
Calne Cricket Club is eager to return to the pitch and hopes the upcoming weekend will bring better fortune and the opportunity to showcase their skills after a frustrating week.
