On Saturday, November 9th, West Wiltshire Crematorium will host a special Open Chapel event to mark Remembrance Day.

The event, scheduled from 11am to 12pm, invites visitors to spend a quiet moment of reflection in the chapel.

Visitors can light a candle in memory of a loved one, as well as collect flower seeds or flowers to place on a memorial within the crematorium's grounds or take home. They will also be able to write a letter or card which can be placed into the crematorium’s Letters to Heaven memorial post box.

Crematorium Manager Louise Belsey said: “Honouring lives of people who have passed on is a big part of what we do here and it feels fitting that we should commemorate Remembrance Day.

“As a nation, it’s important that we never forget those who gave their lives for us.

“Everyone is welcome to join us at our open chapel event to reflect on and remember those who fought and died in the armed forces.”

No booking is required for anyone to attend the Open Chapel event.
