Wiltshire Council has issued an urgent notice that a section of the C15 at Compton Bassett will be closed from 12th January 2026 to allow essential drainage investigation and improvement works to take place.
The closure affects the stretch of road running from the property known as Woodville for approximately 240 metres in a north-easterly direction. The works are being carried out in the interests of public safety.
A signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closure, taking traffic via the A4, A3102 and the unaffected sections of the C15. The diversion will be marked with a solid triangle symbol.
Access for residents and local businesses will be maintained where possible, though delays are expected due to the nature of the works.
The road is anticipated to remain closed for 12 days, though the legal notice permits a maximum duration of 21 days should additional time be required.
