MOTORISTS are warned of upcoming roadworks at Compton Bassett this week.

A section of the C15 at Compton Bassett will be closed to through traffic from Thursday, 8th January, to allow urgent repair work by Wessex Water.

Wiltshire Council has issued a notice under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 confirming that the closure will affect the C15 from its junction with the right of way CBAS2 for around 345 metres in a north-easterly direction.

The closure is being put in place in the interests of public safety while engineers carry out urgent service repairs and associated works.

An alternative route will be available via the unaffected length of the C15, the A4 and the A3102, with diversion signs clearly marked on site using a solid diamond symbol.

The works are expected to last two days, although the temporary traffic order allows for a maximum duration of up to five days if required.

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, but motorists are warned that delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

For further information, Wessex Water can be contacted on 0345 600 4600.
