Drivers in the Calne area are being advised to plan ahead as more road closures are set to take place in Bremhill and Calne Without for essential maintenance and infrastructure works.

Overnight Closure on the A3102 – Calne Without

There will be an urgent overnight road closure on part of the A3102 in Calne Without, starting on Saturday 11th October 2025.

The section affected runs from its junction with Back Lane for approximately 1.5km in a north-easterly direction. The closure will be in place between 7pm and 3am to allow the council to reinstall road lining and carry out associated safety works.

A signed diversion route will be in operation via the A342, A4, and other unaffected sections of the A3102. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, but some delays are expected.

These works are expected to last one night, though the order will remain in force for up to five days in case of unforeseen delays.

Long-Term Closures in Bremhill for Water Main Works

Wessex Water will begin a major mains replacement project in Bremhill, resulting in a number of phased road closures from 24th November 2025 through to 20th March 2026.

The closures will affect parts of both the C118 and C135, with work taking place in two phases:

  • Phase 1:

    • C118 from its junction with the C112 to its junction with the C135.

    • C135 from its junction with the C118 to the property known as Maison Histoire.

  • Phase 2:

    • C118 from its junction with the A3102 to its junction with the C135.

    • C135 again from its junction with the C118 to Maison Histoire.

The works are expected to last around four months, depending on weather conditions. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted, and access for residents will be maintained where possible.

Wiltshire Council has warned that delays are likely due to the scale of the works, but both projects are necessary to maintain local infrastructure and improve long-term road safety and reliability.
