FOLLOWING the recent flooding in the Mill Street and Anchor Road areas, Wessex Water will be carrying out some urgent works next week which means certain parts will be closed to all traffic.

Wessex Water will be carrying out urgent sewer survey and cleaning works on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th October.

On 24th October 2024, Phase 1: Mill Street (Part), Calne; from its junction with Church Street for approximately 100m in a South Easterly direction.

On 25th October 2025, Phase 2: Church Street (Part), Calne; from its junction with A4 to its junction with Mill Street.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible. 

Work is due to start at 8am to 5pm.

Alternate Routes:
Phase 1 Alternative route: via Mill Street (unaffected length), Anchor Road, Brewers Lane, Shelburne Road, A4, Church Street and vice versa.
Phase 2 Alternative route: via Mill Street, Anchor Road, Brewers Lane, Shelburne Road, A4 and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
