Drivers are being advised of an overnight road closure on the A3102 at Heddington to allow urgent works to be carried out by Wiltshire Council.

The closure will take place on Wednesday, 7th January, affecting the A3102 from its junction with the A3102 South East (C247) towards Gore Farm for around 1.5 kilometres, in a north-easterly direction.

Wiltshire Council says the road will be closed in the interests of public safety while crews carry out urgent solar stud reinstallation works, along with associated works.

The closure is scheduled to operate for two nights, between 7pm and 3am, and is expected to be completed within that time. However, the temporary order allows for a maximum duration of up to five days if required.

An alternative route will be in place via the unaffected length of the A3102, the A342 and the A4, with diversion signs marked using a triangle symbol.

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, although motorists are warned that delays are likely during the works.

For more information, Wiltshire Council can be contacted on 0300 456 0105.
