MOTORISTS are being warned of a four-month closure for part of Stanier Road in Calne to allow Wiltshire Council to carry out major carriageway works.

The temporary closure will affect the section of Stanier Road from its junction with the A3102, extending around 75 metres in a south-easterly direction. The closure will come into force on 17th March 2026 and is expected to remain in place until 20th July 2026, subject to weather conditions.

During the closure, a signed diversion route will be in place via A3102, A4, A4361, B4005, A3102, Oxford Road and the unaffected section of Stanier Road.

As part of the traffic order, right-hand turns from Stanier Road into the A3102, and from Beaversbrook Sports Pavilion into the A3102, will also be temporarily prohibited.

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, although delays are likely. The temporary traffic order has a maximum duration of 18 months.
