Motorists in Calne are being warned of continued disruption on the A3102, with a road closure and a temporary speed limit in place as part of ongoing highway works.
Wiltshire Council has confirmed that the section of the A3102 between Stanier Road and the Oxford Road roundabout will be closed to all traffic from 31st January until 17th March 2026.
The closure, which was first introduced in August 2025, is being reinstated to allow the council to carry out carriageway reconstruction and associated works. A signed diversion will be in place via Oxford Road and Stanier Road.
In addition, a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place on another stretch of the A3102, from the Stickleback Road roundabout to the Oxford Road roundabout.
The reduced speed limit came into force on 28th October 2025 and is expected to remain in place until 13th February 2026, while carriageway reconfiguration works are carried out. The restriction will be clearly signposted.
Wiltshire Council said access would be maintained for residents and businesses where possible during the closure, although delays are likely. Both the closure and speed limit are expected to remain in place for their full duration, subject to weather conditions.
