Two people have been arrested after an attempted aggravated burglary in Chippenham late last night.

Wiltshire Police were contacted at around 11.45pm on Monday 16th February following reports that a group had tried to force entry into a property in Chelwood Close. It was also reported they may have been carrying a knife.

No injuries were reported.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, while a 51-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty and assisting an offender. Both remain in custody as enquiries continue. Officers believe further people may have been involved.
