A man has died after being struck by a lorry on the A4 in Marlborough late on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10.40am to Bath Road, near the junction with Golding Avenue, following reports that a pedestrian in his 60's had been hit by a lorry.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Police say work is under way to identify and contact his next of kin.
The lorry driver stopped immediately and is assisting officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
The A4 remains closed in both directions while specialist collision investigators examine the scene, leading to significant disruption around the town as traffic is diverted through residential areas.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the incident, to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log 107 of 4th December. Information can also be emailed to
