LOCAL bikers are being encouraged to take part in a special motorcycle ride in honour of Wiltshire man Ben Garland who disappeared in Ibiza.

Ben, from Southwick, Wiltshire, is believed to have been swept into the sea while taking photographs in January 2020. He had gone to Portinatx to take photographs in the aftermath of a storm and it is thought he was caught by a wave and swept into the sea.

Ben had ridden his motorcycle on the day he disappeared and his keen interest in bikes prompted the idea for a fundraiser. In 2021, his dad, Mark organised the first Ride to the Tide raising vital funds for the RNLI in memory of his son.

Ride to the Tide will see motorcyclists travel from Trowbridge to Poole in Dorset

The ride will begin from Trowbridge Rugby Club on Saturday 12th August and travel 55 miles to the RNLI's lifeboat station in Poole.

Bikers of all abilities are encouraged to take part for just £10 per bike with all proceeds from the ride being donated to the RNLI. You can find out more HERE.
