The Eastbound carriageway of the M4 has reopened this evening (23/03) following a 13 car collision this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 3.15pm today. Three patients were treated at the scene by paramedics, their injuries were assessed as not life threatening or life changing. Fire crews used cutting equipment to free another patient from their car.

Both lanes of the carriageway were closed, between Membury Services and J14, to allow emergency services, including an air ambulance to attend.

Police say there were no reported serious injuries. As of 5.30pm the Eastbound carriageway has reopened and one lane of the Westbound carriageway is now open.
