GREAT Western Railway - GWR, has warned customers to be aware of a scam involving fake accounts on X, formerly Twitter.
The train company has said that accounts have been created on X, falsely claiming to belong to GWR managers.
The people running the accounts are contacting GWR customers requesting personal information including bank details.
GWR said that customers should never give out any personal information, which could include emails, passwords or payment information, to anyone except the verified GWRHelp account adding that their staff only asked for information via direct messages on the site.
GWR runs trains from London to the South West, the West, West Midlands and Wales.
