A man has been arrested after a lorry overturned on the A350 near Morrisons in Chippenham during the early hours of this morning (17th October).
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 2am after reports that a lorry had overturned, trapping the driver inside.
The A350 was closed in both directions between Morrisons and the nearby petrol station while firefighters, police and recovery crews worked at the scene. The road remains shut this morning due to the complexity of the recovery operation.
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and is currently in custody in Melksham for questioning.
Police say enquiries are continuing and have asked anyone with information about the incident to call 101, quoting log 21 of 17 October.
