A teenager from Devizes has been charged with multiple offences following a Bank Holiday joyride with a stolen vehicle.
Wiltshire Police received reports at about 10.30am on Monday, 26th August, that two teenagers had taken a Jaguar and were driving through Westbury.
The vehicle was located travelling on the A36 through Westbury and after failing to stop for police, a pursuit was authorised with the assistance of NPAS (National Police Air Service).
Officers deployed a stinger successfully causing the deflation of the tyres, the Jaguar then crashed on the A350 and two teenagers were arrested.
A 16-year-old male from Devizes, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, has now been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by police, aggravated vehicle taking, using a vehicle without insurance or in accordance with a licence and making off without payment.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court today (28/8).
The second teen arrested - a 15-year-old male from Devizes - was taken to Salisbury District Hospital following the incident and later taken to Melksham custody. He has today been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and will appear at the next available court.
