A 64-year-old man has died following a road traffic collision involving a bicycle and a car on the A350 near Lacock.
Wiltshire Police said the collision happened at around 5am on this morning, Tuesday 20th January. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
A 38-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and on further suspicion of causing serious injury by drug driving. She remains in police custody.
The A350 was closed in both directions while specialist officers carried out investigations, and motorists were warned to expect delays.
