Police are carrying out enquiries after a cannabis cultivation operation was uncovered in Royal Wootton Bassett.

The discovery was made yesterday evening, 18th September when a worker visiting a depot on Marlborough Road for unrelated business noticed the building appeared unsecured and raised the alarm.

Officers attending the scene found a large number of cannabis plants at various stages of growth, along with significant cultivation equipment.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Kate Isaac described the setup as “substantive and extremely dangerous” and warned it posed a risk to the surrounding area. She said: “The electricity board visited the site yesterday evening to make the scene safe and turn off the electricity. Enquiries remain ongoing at the site and at this stage, no arrests have been made.

"I would like to urge residents who notice any suspicious activity, including suspicious or increased numbers of vehicles coming and going at addresses to be cautious and report concerns immediately so we can investigate.”
