THE recent closure of Laundramagic in Calne town centre has undoubtedly been a difficult time for the many customers who had come to rely on the service - however, all is not lost, as there is another Calne based business that has stepped up to help fill the void.

Crease Away are a family business who have been operating in Calne since 2006, primarily providing an ironing service with free collection and delivery to customers in the Calne, Chippenham, Melksham and Devizes areas.

However, when Laundramagic closed in May this year, Crease Away recognised a demand for some of the services the laundrette had offered, and now have increased their services to provide a viable alternative.

As well as their ironing service, Crease Away can now offer dry cleaning, service washes, Airbnb laundry and coming soon - repairs and alterations. And, you may notice some familiar faces when you use Crease Away as former Laundramagic staff, Kelsey and Tracey have joined the Crease Away crew.

Crease Away provide a free collection and delivery service, or you can drop off at their ironing facility in Carlton Business Centre, Maundrell Road, Porte Marsh. Whilst any ironing is completed on site in Porte Marsh, laundry and dry cleaning is completed off-site at their alternative premises which is not open to the public - this means they are unable to allow customers to wash and dry their own laundry but they can take it and do it for you - which sounds an even better plan with most bookings turned around in just 24 to 48 hours.

Ironing Manager at Crease Away, Nicola Webb said: “The sudden closure of the laundrette has had a massive impact on the town, and to us, as we used to work closely with them. Since the closure we have done all, we can to provide a substitute laundry service for Calne and will continue to help anyone affected by the laundrette closure.”
