WILTSHIRE Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in Savernake Forest yesterday morning, 25th August.
Emergency services were called to the area at around 8am, where a person was found deceased. Officers are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to determine the identity of the individual and to locate their next of kin. While the death is not believed to be suspicious at this time, we are keeping an open mind and pursuing all possible lines of enquiry, as is standard in investigations of this nature.”
Residents and visitors to the area can expect an increased police presence in and around Savernake Forest over the coming days as investigations continue.
Police have also urged the public and media to avoid speculation while the investigation is underway.
