Families and music-lovers are in for a festive treat this December as The Fulltone Orchestra presents An Orchestral Christmas at Marlborough College Memorial Hall.
On Sunday 14th December 2025, the orchestra will perform two special shows - a matinee at 2.30pm and an evening performance at 6.00pm, featuring the timeless story of The Snowman, narrated by national treasure Aled Jones MBE.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Jones’ iconic Christmas hit Walking in the Air, adding an extra layer of magic to the performance. The 40-strong Fulltone Orchestra, led by Musical Director Anthony Brown, will bring the beloved score to life with their signature warmth and sweeping orchestral sound.

For this special occasion, two young singers have been selected through a competition to perform Walking in the Air live alongside Jones. Ten-year-old Jack from Liverpool will sing at the matinee, while 13-year-old Lorretta from Wiltshire will join the evening show. Lorretta said: "I can’t wait to perform with such an incredible singer and orchestra, it’s going to be festive magic!"
Jack, a talented young performer who has appeared in touring and local productions including Les Miserables, Oliver, and A Christmas Carol, is also excited to join the orchestra.
Aled Jones, who has worked with The Fulltone Orchestra before, said: "Christmas is such a magical time, and nothing brings it to life quite like music. To be narrating The Snowman with the incredible Fulltone Orchestra is going to be really special – their sound is just extraordinary, you feel it right through you. With all the festive favourites alongside, it promises to be one of those unforgettable concerts that makes the season shine - and 40 years since Walking in the Air was released - where’s that time gone?! I can’t wait to share it with everyone in Marlborough."
Founded in 2017 by Anthony Brown, The Fulltone Orchestra is known for pushing musical boundaries, bringing together 65 exceptional musicians from across the South West. From reviving Enya’s Watermark album in live performance to staging Karl Jenkins works in Bath, Wells, and Tewkesbury, the orchestra delivers bold, unforgettable experiences for audiences.
Anthony Brown, Musical Director, said: "We’re a massively exciting orchestra bringing you iconic music from a wide range of genres that’ll make the hairs on your neck stand on end!"
Tickets for these exclusive performances are priced from £34.95 to £39.95 and are on sale now via www.fto.org.uk/events. Early booking is advised due to high demand.
