Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming to Swindon for the first time ever when the musical arrives at the Wyvern Theatre this Easter.
The production, presented by TYT Inc. Stage Experience Pro, will run from 9th to 11th April 2026, giving local families the chance to see the show right on their doorstep.
To mark the Swindon debut, the production will feature a full “Broadway show” set, including the Glass Elevator, along with a live orchestra. A large LED video wall will also be used to bring Willy Wonka’s factory to life on stage.
Although the creative team includes West End professionals, the cast is made up of children and adults from across the region. Organisers say the show brings together some of the best local performers for what they describe as a large-scale community production.
The family musical includes well-known songs such as Pure Imagination and The Candy Man.
A spokesperson for the production said: “We’re incredibly proud to bring this show to Swindon for the first time. It’s a big production, but the real highlight is the cast. We’ve got some brilliant local children and adults involved, and we hope it’s a great introduction to theatre for a new generation.”
Tickets are available via the Wyvern Theatre website.
