Calne’s historic Bowood Estate is inviting locals and visitors to enjoy a season of indulgence, relaxation, and family fun with a fresh line-up of winter experiences. From gourmet dining and spa treatments to seasonal celebrations, the Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort has something for everyone this winter.
Seasonal flavours at the Shelburne Restaurant
Executive Head Chef Rupert Taylor has unveiled a winter menu at Bowood’s Shelburne Restaurant, highlighting local and seasonal ingredients. Guests can tuck into dishes such as Pork Belly, Braised Beef Shin, and Cornish Sole, alongside creations made from Bowood’s own kitchen garden, including Jerusalem Artichoke Soup and Butternut Risotto. Lunchtime set menus are available Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 2.30pm, priced at £29 for two courses and £35 for three.
Relaxation and wellbeing
Bowood’s award-winning spa has launched its latest signature treatment, A Brush With Heaven. The 90-minute face and body experience includes gentle body brushwork and a Temple Spa facial, designed to calm the mind and revive the senses. Treatments are priced at £140 and can be booked online.
For those seeking a full getaway, the Winter Escape package includes an overnight stay, a three-course dinner with a pre-dinner cocktail, a full Wiltshire breakfast, and complimentary access to the spa and Bowood’s three-hole PGA academy course. Guests also receive a TEMPLESPA Night Ritual gift. The offer is available until 31st March 2026, with prices starting from £298 per room on weekdays.
Golf, Mother’s Day, and Easter events
Golfers can take advantage of a February offer to play a full round on Bowood’s 18-hole PGA course for £100 for two players—a saving of £65 each. Tee times are available Monday to Sunday between 9am and 1pm.
Bowood is also planning seasonal celebrations for families. Mother’s Day on Sunday 15th March 2026 will feature a three-course lunch in the Shelburne Restaurant and Afternoon Tea in the Kerry Suite, complete with live music and small gifts for mothers. Easter Sunday, 5th April 2026, will bring a family-friendly lunch and Easter Afternoon Tea, including a visit from the Easter Bunny and children’s entertainment.

Couples can explore Bowood’s Wedding Showcase on Sunday 1st March 2026, with expert coordinators, supplier displays, and 30-minute consultations available by RSVP.
Valentine’s Day escapes
For romantic getaways, Bowood is offering a Valentine’s Day seven-course dinner on 14th February, along with one- and two-night accommodation packages that include prosecco, chocolates, fine dining, and full access to the resort’s spa and golf facilities.
A historic setting
The Bowood Estate, home to the Lansdowne family for over 250 years, spans 2,000 acres and features Bowood House & Gardens, a Grade I listed historic site and the location of Joseph Priestley’s 1774 discovery of oxygen.
