The Neeld Arts and Community Centre in Chippenham is set to come alive with music as students from Wiltshire College & University Centre take to the stage to perform their original compositions and covers.

The All Treble, No Trouble event, which will feature ten bands from the college's Chippenham campus, promises to be an eclectic mix of rock, indie, drum and bass, and DJ sets.

The performances will showcase the hard work and talent of the students, who have been developing their musical skills throughout the year.

Music lecturers Andy Parker and Ian Jay have been guiding the students through the process of developing their own unique style and sound. "We've guided them through that process of developing whatever they want to do," said Ian. "It's their own choice of style and whether they want to produce an EP, an album, or a music magazine. It's essential that they are allowed to learn and develop through whatever inspires them."

The students have been encouraged to follow their passions and develop their skills in songwriting, sound design, composition, and production. Many of the students have musical interests and can play an instrument, but some didn't know how to produce music when they joined the course.

"We've helped them get it all together so that they can put out music on social media or streaming platforms and now perform live as well," said Ian.

The technical side of the performance will be led by Year Two student Adam Daniel, who will be using his role as his final year project. Adam will be responsible for ensuring the sound and staging are perfect for the performances.

"He said it's what he's interested in doing, so we've really encouraged him to take it on and he's just run with it," said Andy.

The event will feature a variety of rock and indie covers, as well as original compositions. The lecturers will be recording the show for students to submit their performance as part of their coursework.

"It's going to be a really interesting mix," said Andy. "I think people who come along are going to have an entertaining evening."

Tickets for the All Treble, No Trouble event are just £2.50 and can be purchased online. The event takes place on 6th May at 6:30pm at the Neeld Arts and Community Centre.

With the college's music courses continuing to grow and develop, the future looks bright for these talented young musicians. The lecturers are using their contacts in the music world to arrange more chances for the students to perform live.

"There is a new venue launching in Chippenham, and we're arranging something at The Tunnels in Frome, which is really exciting," said Andy. "I think more opportunities like that are going to come along, and the students' confidence will continue to bloom. We're really excited about our next ventures and where we're going to go with the course."
