Young members of Calne’s youth organisations have been recognised for their outstanding turnout at the town’s Remembrance Parade.
Janet Alexander, chair of the Calne branch of the Royal British Legion, presented three trophies to children from local youth groups who were judged to be the best turned out on the parade.
The Limyoe Trophy was awarded to Charlotte Bowden of the Calne Detachment, Sword Company Army Cadet Force. A certificate was also presented to Staff Sergeant Karl Bainbridge on behalf of the detachment in recognition of its fundraising efforts, after raising £5,067.66.

The Millennium Cup was presented to Leah Hollowman of 1st Calne Guides, while a newly introduced award, the Paddy Croxford Trophy, was awarded to Ava Moody of 1st Calne Cubs.

Gordon [surname], vice-chair of the Calne Royal British Legion and the inspecting officer on the day, praised the high standard shown by those taking part.

“The standard of turnout was exceptional,” he said. “It was great to see so many youth organisations taking part, and we are hoping to introduce a new trophy next year.”
The awards highlight the contribution of young people in Calne to Remembrance events and their continued involvement in community and commemorative activities.
