Calne Town Council is inviting young people, parents, and those who work with youth to take part in a new survey aimed at shaping the future of youth provision in the town.

While there are some existing clubs and sporting facilities available, it is widely recognised that there may be a gap in what’s currently offered. The town’s youth club sessions are currently held in Calne Town Hall and at Coleman's Farm Community Centre—neither of which are ideal for the types of activities young people would like to take part in.

As part of a project to develop a dedicated Youth Space at The Recreation Ground, a survey has been launched to gather views on what facilities should be included. Initial plans suggest a small, purpose-built building—possibly using shipping containers to make the project more cost-effective and deliverable in a shorter timeframe.

The Council is seeking feedback from young people aged approximately 10 to 18, as well as from parents, carers, and professionals who work with young people. The survey has been designed to direct each group to appropriate questions, helping to gather a full picture of local needs and aspirations.

The more responses received, the better informed the project will be. All young people in the area are encouraged to share their views on what a youth space in Calne should offer.

The survey can be accessed at the following link: https://survey.zohopublic.eu/zs/P0xoYK
QR codes are also available on posters around the town.

This is a valuable opportunity for the younger community—and those who support them—to help shape a new space designed with their needs in mind.
