A woman in her 40's has died and nine others have been injured following a RTC on the M4 last night, 22nd June.
The fatal RTC which involved two cars, happened just before 11.30pm last night, on the M4 between junctions 16 and 17.
Seven people were travelling in a 7-seater Toyota Corolla, including a woman in her 40s who sadly died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A woman in her 50s sustained serious injuries, not thought to be life threatening. The other five occupants were treated for minor injuries.
The people travelling in the second vehicle, a VW Tiguan, were taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road remained closed for serious collision investigation teams to carry out their work but has reopened this evening.
A police spokesperson said: "We have received reports that a white vehicle may have been involved and left the scene."
