WILTSHIRE Council has announced the cancellation of regular market dates across Wiltshire - including Calne - over the Christmas and New Year period.
The Council’s Markets Team consulted stallholders ahead of the festive season, and all traders advised they did not wish to trade over the festive season between Christmas Day and 5th January 2026.
Because Christmas Day falls on a Thursday this year, the council says many traders, particularly those selling fresh produce, will struggle to source stock in the days between Christmas and New Year.
As a result, the council has confirmed that all markets scheduled from Thursday 25th December 2025 to Monday 5th January 2026 have been cancelled. Normal service will resume on Tuesday 6th January 2026.
