POLICE are investigating the theft of a substantial quantity of agricultural machinery from an estate in Compton Bassett, near Calne.
The machinery was stolen between Friday, 16th May and Tuesday, 20th May.
A spokesperson for Calne Police said: "The machinery would have likely required a trailer to move, and would have been very noticeable as it was transported through the village.
"We would particularly like to hear from anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage who may have captured the machinery being removed."
Inspector Peter Foster said: “Such crimes can have a huge impact on people’s livelihoods and disrupt agricultural operations which cannot be underestimated.
"Unfortunately this is a national issue and we take these offences extremely seriously and will do all we can to bring offenders to justice.
“Always record serial numbers and consider the use of protective marking kits and trackers to help make it harder for thieves.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to call 101 quoting log 54250061318 or leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
