POLICE are asking residents near North End to check for doorbell footage or CCTV from the 24th October when a unaccompanied dog scared a young girl.

The large white and tanned coloured dog has been reported several times on social media as having escaped his owner's house and is thought to be a friendly dog  and well looked after. However, the dog does seem to be mixed with a bull terrier and due to recent media coverage on American XL Bullys, residents who continue to see the dog free, are understandably concerned.

On the 24th October he jumped at a young girl which scared her enough to then hide in a nearby garden. No injuries were caused to the young girl, but police would like the parents or guardians of this girl to make contact regarding this matter.

If you have any information, CCTV or doorbell footage which may assist, please contact them on 101, quoting the crime reference number: 54230113034. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
