A planning application has been submitted for a residential development of up to 90 homes on land off Spitfire Road in Calne.

Developer Allison Homes SW Ltd is seeking approval of reserved matters following outline planning permission previously granted for the site. The application relates to land off Spitfire Road, close to existing housing and Abberd Farm.

The proposal includes the demolition of existing structures and the construction of 90 homes, along with areas of public open space, a play area, internal roads, footpaths, parking areas and landscaping. A new vehicular access from Spitfire Road is also included as part of the plans.

In addition, the application covers sustainable drainage infrastructure and associated works, as well as the discharge of a number of conditions linked to the original outline permission. These include conditions relating to surface water drainage, landscaping and ecological management, lighting, wildlife features and noise assessment.

The outline planning permission for the site was granted under reference PL/2022/07893, allowing residential development of up to 90 dwellings, subject to further detailed approval. The current application seeks consent for matters including access, appearance, layout, landscaping and scale.

A location plan submitted with the application shows the site positioned to the south of Spitfire Road, near existing residential streets including Hurricane Drive and Dakota Drive.

The application will be considered by Wiltshire Council, and local residents will be able to view the plans and submit comments as part of the planning process.
