Emergency services were called to Oxford Road in Calne this morning at about 10.45am following a single-vehicle RTC.

Eyewitnesses reported that a car, believed to be a white Nissan Juke, overturned. The driver, an older woman, was taken to hospital. The vehicle also struck a lamppost, which emergency crews were dealing with due to live electricity.

Stagecoach advised that Service 55 buses were being diverted via the Calne bypass (A3102) until further notice.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police told us: “At around 10.45am this morning we responded to an overturned vehicle in Oxford Road, Calne.

“There are not thought to have been any serious injuries.”

As of approximately 1pm today the road has reopened, although attention is still required for the damaged streetlight.
