Wiltshire Council has confirmed new parking restrictions on sections of the A4 London Roand will take effect from 30th June 2025.

The changes, made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, will introduce "No Waiting at Any Time" (double yellow lines) on sections of A4 London Road and Wessington Court.

The affected areas are:

  • A4 London Road (East Side):

    • From 26 metres northwest of the junction with Wessington Court to 49 metres southeast of that junction.

    • From 26 metres east of the midpoint of the Churchview junction to 36 metres east of that junction.

    • From the midpoint of the Churchview junction to 14 metres west of that point.

  • Wessington Court (Both Sides):

    • From its junction with A4 London Road to 6 metres northeast of that junction.

These changes replace an earlier restriction map (dated April 2021) with a new one (dated June 2025), as part of an update to the Calne Consolidation Order 2021.

Once the order takes effect, it will be illegal to park at any time along the specified stretches of road. Drivers should be aware of the new lines and signage to avoid fines or penalties. The Council’s goal is to reduce congestion and improve access and safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
