A collaborative effort between Calne Police and Kingsbury Green Academy is underway to address concerns of anti-social behaviour in the Back Road area.
The initiative follows reports of a small number of students engaging in behaviour that has caused distress to local residents, particularly the elderly and vulnerable.
The anti-social behaviour, which includes kicking, banging, and damaging doors, has prompted a joint response from the police and the academy.
On Friday, 13th June, Calne Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and teachers from Kingsbury Green Academy conducted a joint patrol of Back Road to raise awareness and deter future incidents.
"We are committed to addressing and reducing this behaviour swiftly," said Calne PCSO Mark Cook.
"This sort of behaviour is not acceptable and will not be tolerated, especially when directed at vulnerable and elderly residents. We urge any parents whose children use this route to and from school to speak with them about how their actions may be negatively affecting others."
The police are also reviewing CCTV footage to identify perpetrators and take appropriate action.
Residents who have been affected by the anti-social behaviour are encouraged to report incidents to the police, allowing them to take further action.
The joint patrols in Back Road and surrounding areas will continue as part of the ongoing effort to maintain community safety and prevent future incidents.
