A GoFundMe page has been launched to raise funds for a woman from Calne who was seriously injured in the three-vehicle rtc that closed a portion of the A3102 on Friday (5/7).

Emergency services were called to the scene of the three-vehicle collision at about 8.25am on Friday where a Renault Kangoo, Kia Sportage and Ford Mondeo had been involved in a crash just outside F Drury & Sons abbatoir.

The driver of the Kangoo, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She has been named locally as Melissa Currant from Calne.

A passenger in the Mondeo, a woman in her 40s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The driver of the Mondeo, a man in his 40s, suffered reportedly minor injuries.

Over the weekend Liam Wiggins who works with Melissa Currant at GB Electrical & Building Services in Lyneham has now launched a GoFundMe page to raise money to help her pay her bills and living costs while she is unable to work.

On the GoFundMe page, Liam wrote:

Hi everyone, as you may or may not be aware, our colleague and friend, Melissa, was involved in a serious road collision and is currently in hospital with severe injuries.
We are yet to find out the long term recovery period, so have created this page to provide support for her recovery and help to cover her financial expenses which include her rent, bills, salary and general living expenses.
We appreciate that everyone’s living expenses are sky high currently so anything that can be donated is a massive help.

The page has so far raised over £2000 however, an update to the page today indicates that there have been updates on Melissa's injuries and consequently, the target has been increased to £10,000.
