Police say they have arrested five people, including 3 from Calne following a disorder that happened outside Sainsbury's in December.

Officers were called to the area in The Pippin in the early hours of 21st December 2023, following reports that a woman had sustained an injury to her leg during a disorder.

Following enquiries, five people have been arrested on suspicion of affray including three men from Calne aged 20, 19 and 17 and a 24 year old man and 18 year old girl from Corsham.

All have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

T/Sgt Ben Peacock said: “Despite those involved refusing to engage with officers, we understand a concerning disorder took place - we will not tolerate this type of behaviour on our streets.

"We are committed to keeping our towns as safe as possible and we have been conducting an extensive investigation into this incident.

"As a result, we arrested five individuals over the weekend who have all been interviewed.

“We would continue to appeal for witnesses to the disorder – were you in the area near to Sainsburys in the early hours of December 21, or do you have any dash cam or doorbell footage which could assist our enquiries? Please get in touch.”
