Fay’s Bistro has launched a fundraising initiative in memory of Shayne Hambakachere, a much-loved member of staff, following the sad news of his tragic death.

Shayne, 16, was remembered by colleagues as a polite, hardworking young man with a caring and loving family.

“We are raising money at the bistro to give to Shayne's family,” the bistro said. “Shayne's favourite treat at the bistro was our Millionaires Shortbread. We will be donating the sale of these treats towards the pot. If you are able to buy one or donate in some small way we know it will be very much appreciated at such a sad time.”

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Swindon Magistrates Court this morning charged with murder. He has been remanded to appear before Bristol Crown Court on Friday, 6th February.

This follows Shayne being found seriously injured in London Road, Chippenham, on Saturday. A Major Incident Public Portal has been set up to allow anyone to report information directly to the investigation team: https://orlo.uk/DswGu.

Members of the community are invited to visit Fay’s Bistro to buy a treat or donate directly, helping to remember Shayne and provide support for his loved ones.
