Wiltshire Council is encouraging residents to have their say on plans to introduce 'no waiting at any time' restrictions on sections of the A4 London Road in Calne.
The plan includes restricted sections outside Holy Trinity CofE Academy, Holy Trinity Church and Wessington Court - a notoriously busy area during term-time.
The council say the plans will 'improve road safety for traffic and pedestrians' outside Holy Trinity School. During school pick-ups and drop-offs this area has been known to become dangerously busy and has been a talking point locally for years with a few reported 'near misses'.
There are already some 'no waiting' zones on the western side of the road but the plans hope to expand this to the eastern side of London Road too.
A public consultation on this proposal will run until 5th August during which time residents can object to or support the plans by commenting online, by post, or by email - for more details visit here: London Road Consultation
