Calne will host its first-ever Donation Day next month, bringing together local charities, community groups and residents for a large community-led giving event at the Corn Exchange.

The event will take place on Saturday 24th January 2026, running from 10.30am to 3.30pm, and will give residents a single, convenient place to donate items directly to the organisations that need them most. It is free to attend, and all stalls are provided at no cost to participating charities. The day is fully sponsored and organised by Get In Line, which has worked closely with local groups to bring the initiative to life.

Ahead of the event, organisers will publish a ‘Top 5’ list highlighting the most-needed items for each charity involved, helping residents understand what will have the greatest impact. On the day itself, charities will host their own stalls inside the Corn Exchange, offering information about their work alongside games, raffles, tombolas and cakes. Each organisation will be ready to receive donations directly from visitors.

Donation Day has been developed around the message “Bring What You Can - Help Who You Can”, and aims to make giving easier and more accessible for the whole community. Charities are encouraged to apply for a free stall, and organisers are also seeking volunteer drivers to help move donated items after the event. Local businesses are being invited to help spread the word by sharing event details with their customers and communities.

Residents are encouraged to come along, meet the charities and bring along items from the upcoming donation lists.
