A Calne teenager has been charged following two serious knife-related incidents in Chippenham.

Rio Brown, 18, of York Road, Calne, has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH), attempted GBH, theft of a bike, possession of cannabis, and two counts of possessing a bladed article.

The first incident took place at around 4pm on Monday 13th October in Kingsley Park, off Kingsley Road, where a 20-year-old man sustained a wound and had his bike stolen. The second occurred in the early hours of Saturday 27th September on New Road, near Chippenham town centre, where a man was reportedly chased and threatened with a knife.

Brown was remanded in custody following his arrest but has since been released on bail by magistrates. He is due to appear at Salisbury Crown Court on Wednesday 26th November.

Detective Sergeant Ben Brewster said: “Whilst we have charged a man in connection with these incidents, we are still keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have information. These were two very serious incidents and you may have information which could be key to our investigation.”
