HEAVY rainfall on Saturday failed to dampen the vibrant spirit of attendees at Calne Pride 2025, a celebration of inclusivity and community.
The festivities kicked off with a colourful parade at 1:30pm from Calne Pocket Park, led by Calne Town Mayor, Ian Thorn.
The procession, filled with enthusiastic marchers adorned in rainbow hues, then made its way through the centre of Calne.
Following the parade, the main event unfolded at the Recreation Ground. Attendees enjoyed a variety of community stalls, food and drink vendors, and a lively program of entertainment, expertly hosted by returning favourite Trixie Lee.
Calne Pride Vice Chair, Jessica Staples-Preston, commented: "Despite the rain, the day was amazing and didn't put people off,"
"We may have had to postpone the stage opening a little, but once it started, everyone was loving it. Everyone that joined the march was full of colour and happy faces.
Looking ahead, Jessica expressed excitement for the future. "By the end of the evening, although a lot of the crowd and stalls had dispersed, there were still about 50 people who were loving the rest of the evening. We are looking forward to planning 2026 already!"
