Calne town centre will come alive with flavours, aromas, and family fun on Saturday 30th August as over 60 local makers, growers, farmers, and entertainers gather for a one-day food and drink festival.
The eat:Calne event will run from 10am to 4pm, taking place across the town centre including Phelps Parade, the High Street, Church Street, the corner of Mill Street, and even in the town’s Pocket Park.
Entry is free, with road diversions in place on The Strand, the High Street and The Square from 7am to 7pm to accommodate the festivities.
Organised by eat:Festivals, the event is supported by Calne Town Council, Chevron Traffic Management, and A&D 4x4. Visitors can expect a buzzing atmosphere filled with the best of local food and drink, handmade produce, and live entertainment.
Sarah Milner Simonds, organiser of eat:Festivals, said: “It has been a real pleasure getting to know Calne better over the past few months. There are so many great producers in Wiltshire it is great to be able to showcase many at this new festival.
“On the day you can expect to find farmers’ markets favourites like bread, ales and cheese alongside charcuterie, cakes and street food plus free entertainment – like circus skills, buskers and strolling entertainers.”
In addition to the street stalls and performers, local retailers, cafes, pubs, and restaurants will be open as usual, with residents and visitors encouraged to explore everything Calne has to offer.
Whether you’re looking to sample local treats, enjoy a day out with the family, or soak in the community spirit, eat:Calne promises something for everyone.
And in the Town Hall Love Calne Business Fair will be happening simultaneously, spotlighting local entrepreneurs.
