Exciting developments are underway for the young residents of Calne!

At the recent Town and Community Matters Committee meeting held on 2nd December 2024, a generous £5,000 grant was awarded to the Open Blue Trust, ensuring that the Big Blue Bus will make 25 visits to Calne over the next twelve months, bringing a wave of fun and community spirit every Friday evening.

The Big Blue Bus is no ordinary vehicle; it's a fantastic mobile community centre designed to offer a safe and welcoming space for young people.

Packed with engaging activities, the bus features arts and crafts, Xbox and board games, a flat-screen TV and music system, 4G internet access, and a cosy kitchen/café area, creating an inviting environment for socialising and creativity. Youths can enjoy an array of activities while forging new friendships, all within a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by Calne Town Council to provide free youth activities and engagement throughout the year, collaborating with organisations like Open Blue Trust, The RISE Trust Youth Team and ATBShop.

The funding will significantly enhance opportunities for local young people, ensuring they have access to enriching experiences right in their own community.

For those feeling inspired to give back, the Open Blue Trust is actively seeking volunteers to help support these amazing programs. Interested individuals can find more information on how to get involved by visiting their website at http://www.openblue.org.uk/](http://www.openblue.org.uk/.

With the Big Blue Bus rolling back into town, the future looks bright for Calne's youth. Don’t miss out on the fun—mark your calendars for the next Friday night adventure!
