POLICE are investigating a spate of criminal damage to ATMs in Chippenham town centre.

Five machines were damaged, with Tesco, Sainsbury's, halifax, NatWest and Nationwide all targeted between 1am and 4am on 27th February.

Police say they have been working with CCTV camera operators and local businesses and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and help identify those responsible for the vandalism.

A spokesperson said: "We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a someone carrying a hammer, mallet, or brick around the town centre around those times."
