An overnight search carried out by police and Wiltshire Search and Rescue teams has ended sadly this morning with the discovery of a body.

Teams were deployed in the early hours to search for a high risk missing person from the Calne area.

Sadly, the search has culminated in the discovery of a body of a 28-year-old man.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We can confirm that a body has been found in the search for a man missing from Calne.

"Officers and Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers carried out a search of Penn Wood during the early hours of this morning (13/01) following reported concerns for the safety of a 28-year-old man.

"Sadly, a body was discovered and the man's family has been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.

"We do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death."
