lacock3We asked Lacock Dairy why shopping local is so important, they told us: "Local food equals local money. Eating food produced locally means more money stays within your community.
"Eating local food is “green” and reduces your carbon footprint. When your food doesn't travel long distances, you’re promoting better air quality and reducing
"Buying local is more fulfilling, knowing that your food has a local story and that it comes from one of your neighbours makes eating it that much more enjoyable.
"Local foods support responsible land development, when we buy local foods, we support local farmers. This gives those with farms and pastures a reason to stay
"Buying local enriches our social community - when we buy local foods, we create a more intimate relationship with the people who grow our food because they’re our neighbours. "

Chloe told us: "My tiny business likes to share knowledge on looking after the environment, animal welfare and Food and Farming. I aim to make my sessions educational and therapeutic, with a bit of fun thrown in too.
The pandemic has proved a difficult time for all business and it has been a tough time at the farm, Chloe said : "Running such a business through Covid is really tough, especially with such high animal costs that do not disappear when we are not earning. We have not been able to work through either lockdown, we reopened briefly in October but since the second lock down have decided it is not feasible for us to open before Christmas - we are focusing on Easter 2021 and aim to be really busy and have a lot of fun!"
"My favourite visits are the care home visits. They are so rewarding and I think they are needed more than ever right now, I can't wait to be
allowed to visit the care homes again.
digby"Our most popular animal is Digby The Goat. Digby was born into a Goat meat Farm and now spends his days making everyone laugh. Most of our
animals are rescues in some form or other."

Chloe is passionate about supporting local businesses, now more than ever: " I have made a real effort with my Christmas shopping this year to source from small, local businesses and love that a lot of people seem to be doing the same. Everyone can help local businesses, even without spending money, by giving them a like and share on their social media.
"If anyone wanted to help us they could find us on Facebook and Instagram, give us a like, comment on and share some of our posts, you can also purchase an 'Own a Pony Voucher' there. We do not have an online shop, as such so you need to send us a message if you are looking to purchase
one of these vouchers. "
