AS temperatures plunge, many of us will be turning the heating up in our homes. But what if your heating system isn't working and you don't have the funds to have it repaired? There is no need to suffer in silence thanks to a government backed scheme - Warm and Safe Wiltshire.
Warm and Safe Wiltshire is a service provided by Wiltshire Council, Swindon Borough Council, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Energy to help residents live in safer and healthier homes. Additional funding for Warm and Safe Wiltshire has been provided by the Warm Homes Fund, which has enabled the service to offer more support to residents across Wiltshire.
They can help you with the cost of repairing or replacing your broken heating system, upgrading heating controls or emergency room heaters. They can also offer energy advice to help you lower your bills.
You will be eligible if your income is less than £28,000 (gross) for a single person or £32,000 (gross) for a couple or family - your savings need to be less than £8,000.
