It has been such an unexpected year for businesses across the world, and none have been more affected than our small independent businesses.
However, 13 of Wiltshire's best have been proactive in their response, finding new ways to adjust to the current climate resulting in a collaboration to bring you the perfect Christmas gift whilst simultaneously supporting our local artisans.
The Wiltshire Artisans Christmas Hamper is the brainchild of Chris Wooldridge, owner of Calne's own Fluffy Puffin artisan ice cream and sorbet company.
Chris explains: "2020 has been particularly tough for small independent businesses like ours. For this reason, we're curating the most amazing collaboration. We're bringing together 13 of the counties most talented producers, to bring you an incredible Christmas Hamper. By supporting your local businesses and buying local this year, you can make a real difference to all the talented people featured."
Included in the hamper:
Cuvée Victor English Sparkling Wine 2015
From A'Beckett's Vineyard and Orchard run by the Langham family situated between Avebury and Stonehenge
The wine is named after Lynn’s father Victor who despite being teetotal supported us with his enthusiasm for our project and practical skills as a carpenter helping us build the winery and an agricultural store along with picking at harvest time
Vegan friendly, as are all a’Beckett’s products.

The superior quality of their smoked fish, is created using only age old methods and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Red Ram Craft Lager
From Ramsbury Brewery - This is their first craft lager and it’s quite the charmer. Bursting with flavours of specially selected malt and continental hops, it has a crisp and refreshing finish. Red Ram is a proper craft lager and distinctively moreish. Best served chilled.
Orange, Cinnamon & Honey Soap
From Soaps. By. Hope - Hope creates each and every soap by hand. Having suffered with dry skin from a young age, she set upon a mission to create a natural yet beautiful product suitable for delicate skin types.

Bespoke Laser Carved Greeting Tag
From Origami Elephant founded just this year. Jo & Lacey are a highly talented artist and designer duo. They create all kinds of wonderful hand made gifts, from personalised wedding stationary to layered ornaments and unique homeware. The perfect gifting service.
Old Winchester Cheese
From Lyburn Farmhouse Cheese - Also known as Old Smales, Old Winchester is an older version of Winchester, on a previous page. This is now a much dryer harder and crystalline cheese, becoming more reminiscent of an old gouda with a distinctive nuttiness in flavour, however it is a product of evolution and need. Because Old Winchester is made with a vegetarian rennet, on a number of occasions the cheese is being sold, and used as a vegetarian replacement for a hard Italian cheese, and yet can still be used as a table cheese, it has that bit more versatility.
From In a Pickle Food Company - In a Pickle was started in 2011 by Steph Anderson working alone in her home kitchen using her own unique recipes. Today the business has grown significantly and Steph supplies food retailers, shops and restaurants throughout the UK and into Europe.
Now working from a purpose built kitchen, everything is still made by hand by Steph, and her team
Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Sea Salt Crackers
From the Fine Cheese Co. is a maturer, wholesaler, retailer and exporter of artisan British cheeses, most of which are unpasteurised and all of which are traditionally made. The Fine Cheese Co. has been owned and run from the beginning by Ann-Marie Dyas. A judge at both the British and World Cheese Awards, Ann-Marie was committed to the survival of traditional cheese-making, and to introducing farmhouse cheeses to as wide a public as possible. They are a strong supporter of the independent retailer – after all they are an independent retailer themselves– and none of The Fine Cheese Co. ranges of products will ever be sold in a British supermarket.
Festive Chocolate Petit Four & Chocolate Truffle
From Hollychoc Chocolate Engineer - Holly's chocolates are lovingly handmade in small batches and have a complexity of flavours that sets them aside from the rest. Using high cocoa content and reduced sugar, each chocolate is a blend of passion, chemistry and exceptional ingredients.
Seasonal Iced Shortbread
From 'Kimmi's Cakes - established in December 2017. She was still working full-time, commuting to Reading and then baking and decorating cakes during any spare time she had. Eventually, it got to a point where Kimmi was having to turn away orders, it was at this point that she took the plunge and quit her job, taking on the challenge of being a full-time cake maker and decorator.
From Cakes By Mrs F - Sarah is an award winning cake maker based in Chippenham, and has been baking and teaching sugar craft classes for over 10 years. Specialising in vegan & gluten free wedding cakes, Mrs. F designs and bakes everything from scratch using nothing but fresh ingredients.
