All about the role:
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and supportive team. This post will involve supporting students in class and working with students with physical, learning and behavioural difficulties, including some elements of personal care.
This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.
To offer support for students with SEND.
To work collaboratively with teachers to ensure students who have SEND are appropriately supported.
Contribute to the development and delivery of the curriculum to support students with SEND.
Preparing learning activities for individual’s groups and for classes.
Monitoring individual and/or directed pupils.
Assessing, recording and reporting on individual student's achievement, progress and development.
Monitoring and intervening in student's behaviour.
Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners.
Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability.
Be an effective member of the school community, contributing to all aspects of support within school.
The right candidate will have:
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Knowledge of Special Educational Needs.
Experience of working with children preferably in an educational setting.
Experience of developing positive working relationships.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a positive relationship with students and emphasise their needs.
Be flexible and respond to changing demands.
Ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills both in working relationships with young pupils and informing effective professional relationships with a wide range of contacts.
Good organisational and time management skills
Good sense of humour.

15hrs per week over 3 days (Including an unpaid 20 minute break and unpaid 40 minute lunchbreak) – days to be discussed in interview.
